Celtic Roots - The Experience

You will be taken to the ancient boglands from which Eibhlín sources her primitive woods – the presence of these lands will touch you and change you  – fierce, indigenous and seemingly desolate.  It is this densely dark and unforgiving soil, a blackness that is moist, a matter where silence seemingly pervades because we fail to hear the spirits of our ancestors, calling to us. In this underworld of the bog – there seems no sense of time – yet time eventually disintegrates everything physical that lives within it. It slowly whirls its constant wheel of create – preserve – disintegrate. The buried oaks and yews – bloodless, sapless, bereft of life yet rising from this terrene with purpose – a tribal, totemic, unapologetic reminder to us –  of the circle of life. These sacramental woods speak softly of reclaiming our life force and thus our connection to our kin and land – if we are only willing to listen.

Bog oak, now an honored wood – dense, tenacious, hardened but first having to lie defaced and severed for centuries, its wounding – impregnated with primitive timeworn legends, mythos and lore. This sacramental hardwood – reposing in an ambry of deep layers of bog underneath a mythical thicket of flora – unmarred and unstirred, completely sealed till their resurrection day – primordial alchemy finally rising to the light.

And now it’s ready for you to discover after 5600 years of lying dormant.

You will receive a soft case made of skin in which you can wrap your talisman for its journey - accompanied by a booklet telling some of the lores of the bog lands.

Create a Talisman with Eibhlín a knowing, noetic, and truly mythical object – that is believed to have protection against ill will, bestowing the wearer with intuition and a sense of re-connection to this earth. Experience the bog wood in its fullness – observe its native ground, then meet the bog wood in its original found state, and sense it at the various drying stages [ it takes 2 years to dry ready for carving ] . You will receive a soft case made of skin in which you can wrap your talisman for its journey – accompanied by a booklet telling some of the lores of the bog lands.
See the bog oak roots, even the sap and heartwood – and listen to its sinuous reverberations that are more than ancient and hold the historic pulses of our clans and lineages. In Eibhlín’s workshop you can immerse yourself in the unconstrained chiseling and carving, shaping and molding, in spirited polishing and burnishing till there is a sheen, a smoothness, and the timeworn armor of the bog wood ceases to exist.  This opportunity of re- connection and re-remembrance is a native antidotal provided to us so generously by the boglands.  Often we have forgotten how our sinews are rooted deep in the lands and our souls ingrained in their tales.
